Future SCATS Development
While SCATS is a recognised worldwide market leader in intelligent transport systems, RMS is continuing to develop SCATS and has also entered into collaborative research and development agreements in order to progress research on a number of longer term improvements to managing traffic.
Feedback from members of the SCATS user groups, SCATS distributors and clients is included when considering SCATS ongoing development.
SCATS 6.8.1
SCATS latest release by RMS is version 6.8.1.
The latest version of SCATS was released on 17 December 2010. SCATS 6.8.1 now supports 48 Detectors and 32 signal groups.

Development is under way for this release in June 2010 and the following are the major changes for this version
- • Increased IO capacity for detectors and signal groups
- • New code base for future development work
- • Start work on TRAFF/SCATS for new version of controller software.
